Here’s how this 30-second spot came to life at Chaliwa Music + Sound.

This project had our team involved in every step of the audio production process: vo casting and recording, original music composition, sound design, and mixing.

Voice Over

Our client sent us a preliminary script, seeking a voice that sounded corporate, scientific, friendly, and confident. Over the years, Chaliwa has built up a diverse roster of talented voice actors for both English and Spanish-speaking markets. So we reached out to talent who fit the client’s brief and invited them to audition. Our client chose their favorite voice, and we got busy recording. VO recording sessions are always a fun adventure! We brought the client and the talent together via Source Connect, which allows us to make adjustments on the fly. After the session, we sent the best takes to the client so they could add the VO to their video edit.

Music

The brief for this project called for original music: always an exciting opportunity! Stylistically, our client was looking for music that blended organic and electronic elements with an informative, optimistic feeling. To start the process, our team put together a playlist of reference tracks. Our client sent us notes on what they liked and didn’t like about those tracks, and we used that feedback to start the music production process. We brought together our team of composers and got to it. One of the most stimulating parts of our job is experimenting with different sounds and instruments, and collaborating with other musicians. In the end, we presented our client with five custom music options, from which they chose the track “Determined Discovery.” Wondering what happened to the other four? They found a happy home within our in-house production music catalog, Hungry Human, waiting for the right brief to come along!

Sound Design & Mixing

This is where everything comes together, the “secret sauce” that can take a spot from excellent to exceptional. Sound design and mixing require technical expertise, creativity, and close attention to detail. The goal for this project was to create a sonic universe that felt clean, scientific, and engaging.
